Police investigating the murder of a 23-year-old man in Bolton have arrested four men.
The suspects have been arrested on suspicion of murder and violent conduct and are currently being questioned by detectives.
Two men aged 29, one aged 30 and another aged 31 were arrested this afternoon and are currently in police custody.
The arrests come after a 23-year-old man was discovered with stab wounds following an attack in Breightmet, on Sunday.
Officers were called to an address on Brightmeadow Close at around 4.15am.
The man was taken to hospital where he later died, Manchester Evening News reports.
Detectives from Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team have launched an investigation alongside police in Bolton.
Brightmeadow Close has been cordoned off since the early hours of Sunday.
There was a heavy police presence in the area throughout the day.
Forensics officers were at the scene all day and the road was been closed to traffic and pedestrians.
Detective Chief Inspector Howard Millington, from the Major Incident Team asked anyone with information about the incident to get in touch with officers.
He said: “ First and foremost our thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young man.
“Even though we have now made arrests, our investigation is still ongoing and we are still appealing for witnesses.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the disturbance or seen anything suspicious before or after police arrived to get in touch so we can give this man’s family and friends the answers they deserve.”
Friends of the victim have laid flowers at the scene of the incident and neighbours said they were shocked to hear about the stabbing.
